Under Construction :)

No, seriously, I'm still under construction...

Answers to the most commonly asked questions (as in asked daily, ad nauseum):

Yes, I really am 41 years old. Fo reals. I give all the credit to amazing genetics (you should see my parents), wearing sun block with SPF 34987 every time I venture outside, regular trips to the gym, keeping an open mind, and not having children. Those little monsters will send you to an early grave.

No, my braids are not my *real* hair. They're permanent braid extensions. My real hair is in there somewhere, braided in to the mix. It is MY hair, I paid for it (lord knows on braiding days I pay for it in spades). The rest of the hair questions are generally answered such: it takes 10 hours to install and hurts like the devil in the process, it costs a small fortune, and it lasts about 3 1/2 months before it needs to be replaced.

No, I'm not really dead. I'm not really all that angry either, most of the time. Most. Of. The. Time. Basically, I am just a little girl with a hair trigger temper ;)

By trade (read: "real" job), I am a Computer Forensics Engineer. I search bad people's computers and find the evidence of their evildoings that they thought they had erased, then use it against them in a court of law. Muah hahahahah. That's when I can find a job. The IT industry is not often kind to women, or any one else for that matter, unless you live in India. Let's hear it for outsourcing.

I have a Master's of Science in Information Technology, specializing in Information Security, from Carnegie Mellon University. You know, the University that invented the *Input the following letters and numbers before you send this email, so we know you're not a robot* crap. Yep, we invented that. I didn't invent it personally, so don't be too angry with me. I have two Bachelor of the Arts degrees, one in Mathematics, and the other in Medieval History. Because I couldn't decide if I wanted to be a math teacher or a bum. I've tried both, and I have to agree that computer forensics is much cooler. I do intend to pursue my PhD in the next few years; however, it has to be in something easier than IT or math or even history. I was thinking Women's Studies. I'm a woman and I LOOOOVE women, so how hard could that be?? ;) Knowing me, though, it will be in some sort of aerospace engineering and be the most gutwrenchingly difficult experience of my life. I roll like that...

When I'm not fishing for your computer sekretz, I am a professional seamstress. I commonly sew 70+ hours a week, even when I am carrying the load of a full time job. I'm a machine, it seems, when it comes to sewing. I have been sewing professionally for more than 6 years as of this writing, and I have been sewing as a hobbyist for more years than I care to remember. I do it right, I do it well, I don't cut corners, I don't accept anything less than perfection. I'm a bit obsessive about it. If you couldn't tell.
